SOCIAL STUDIES TOPIC OF THE WEEK: Aspects of Government in Canada

Hello again Grade 5 Students and Parents,

This week we will be focusing on the government of Canada, particularly the federal government and the electoral process. Students will explore the functions and interactions of the three levels of government in Canada (municipal, provincial, federal). As you investigate the Canadian electoral process, you will learn about life in a democratic system. You will also be able to describe how immigrants became Canadian citizens

Assignment #3
Identify the characteristics of different systems of government (democracy, dictatorship, monarchy)
Check out this site for more information on the Canadian government and its components. This is a great resource for you to get started on your assignment

You've done a great job with both of your blogs. Keep it up.

Great use of online resources to support social studies teaching & learning. Can you add these and any others you find to the Social Studies Wiki
