SCIENCE TOPIC OF THE WEEK : Weather

Good Day Grade 5 Students ,

Our topic of the week will focus on the weather and how its an important aspect of daily life!!!

Every day you make decisions based on the weather. The clothes you wear and the activities you do usually depend on it. The house you live in, the plants and animals you see are all linked to the weather of your environment. For centuries, people have been making observations to understand weather patterns. An understanding of weather
patterns can help you prepare for and enjoy your daily life.

This week we will focus:


1. about weather and climate and how they are related
2.about weather patterns and how they help use forecast the short- and long-term weather
3.how to design, build, and test different instruments used for measuring various features of weather.
4.ways that humans and animals adapt to different weather conditions


Assignment #1

The forecast for rain is given as a probability. A 10 percent chance means it is unlikely to rain where you are. A 90 percent chance means that rain is very likely. Follow the predictions for the next week. How often are the predictions correct? Does it appear difficult to forecast the rain? Why or why not?
